Your Regional Veteran Community Worker – Ellie Howel

(They/Them/Theirs)

Before joining Fighting With Pride, Ellie forged their career across the charitable and education sectors. They bring ten years of experience in mentoring and training, as well as supporting and advocating for multiple communities, including the LGBTQ+ community. Ellie has a breadth of experience in making positive change, particularly in the realms of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Ellie has worked to build inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community across the South West, delivering training in schools to foster inclusion for LGBTQ+ youth and building peer-to-peer support networks for both young people and adults. They are thrilled to be supporting veterans across Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.

Alongside their work in charity settings, Ellie has trained in various healing modalities including Psychosynthesis and IFS (Internal Family Systems) and has previously run a private practice offering massage therapy and somatic coaching. Ellie is passionate about working in compassionate, trauma-informed and person-centred ways. Fostering wellbeing and positive mental health is at the centre of their approach.

In their spare time, Ellie can be found wandering in the woods, surfing around the South West, writing poetry, reading, cooking and gardening.

Regional Pride Events

Pride events for the region have finished for this year. We will try and get involved in as many local 2025 prides as we possibly can and it would be great if you could come along and support us. We will let you know the details as we get information and post them here and in our Newsletter.
